Did you know one in three people around the world still don’t have access to a safe and private toilet?

At WaterAid, they’re determined to change this. They’re using comedy to help the nation overcome their embarrassment and take action to provide everyone everywhere with toilets by 2030.

And they want schools to get involved to help us achieve this ambitious goal. They are looking for pupils all over the UK to write their own riddles, puns, knock knock jokes and tongue twisters about the humble loo.

Then get your local MP involved by sending or tweeting the jokes using the hashtags #ItsNoJoke and #WorldToiletDay – alongside the serious facts about the global sanitation crisis.

Download lesson plans and supporting resources for a creative class on taps and toilets.
