As a family we are all committed to reducing our plastic waste as it was becoming very clear to us over the last couple of years of its terrible impact on our planet and all that inhabit it.
It was back in 2018 that we found we could not find any shampoo or conditioner in plastic free packaging. This was quite upsetting to us as we know that these products almost always end up in landfill and this was the catalyst that started us on our journey in creating Green Planet Beauty (greenplanetbeauty.co.uk).
As we have both worked within the beauty industry for over 10 years, in particular creating natural beauty products, we decided to make a change and create these products in plastic free alternatives. A range that would be plastic free, vegan friendly, cruelty free and palm oil free. Above all no harm to us, animals or the environment.
SELF CARE SECRETS
Our favourite self-care secrets would be using shampoo and conditioner that do not contain any harmful chemicals, especially SLS and SLES which can be quite damaging over time. Also, a great natural product, that is available in our glass bottles with aluminium lids. Is pure organic argan oil. This is an amazing all-round natural superhero product. We love to use this in our hair as a deep conditioner treatment. Massage a generous amount of argan oil into your hair and brush it through to the ends. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and then wash out. You will notice a great improvement to your hair health and appearance, giving it a lovely healthy shine. We also take pride in looking after our skin and in particular love using hyaluronic acid. Ours is natural and vegan friendly and really helps to moisturise, smooth and reduce the appearance of our wrinkles.
BUSINESS PLANS
Our plans for the future are to continue to expand our range of beauty products. We are looking forward to launching a wonderful plastic free and vegan friendly SPF and make-up range by next year, to name a few exciting additions.
THREE WAYS TO BE MORE SUSTAINABLE
The three things we would say are most important when choosing a more natural, sustainable way of life would be, try to choose products wherever possible that will not ultimately end up in landfill, causing issues for the environment but also our future generations. Choose products that are free from chemicals, as they are not the best choices for us to use but could also end up damaging the planet. And last but not least, chose products that are cruelty free and have not caused any harm to animals in making them.
The best thing is that all of these choices are becoming easier to achieve these days, which is really great to see.
